Ohio Interim Manager Program

The Ohio Interim Manager Program was created by the Ohio City/County Management Association to serve public agency interim staffing needs. Public agencies looking to fill vacancies created by planned retirements, involuntary terminations, promotions, reorganizations, long-term absences, or unexpected circumstances. OCMA understands the organizational culture of public agencies, as well as their operational and professional needs. This will allow OCMA to work effectively candidates and agencies to accurately fill these interim positions.

This is a service to cities, counties, villages, townships, and special districts of Ohio.

  • Program is sponsored by the Ohio City/County Management Association.
  • OCMA is a non-profit organization that matches skilled veterans of public agencies with short-term and temporary jobs in communities throughout Ohio.
  • It's an ideal match of talented management-level and professional personnel to fulfilling and rewarding public agency work where their skills are needed.
  • Ohio Interim Manager Program will not displace nor replace full-time staff, nor will it act as a source for permanent employment.

Who are Ohio Interim Manager Program registrants:

  • The individuals registered with OCMA as a member of the professional pool for the Ohio Interim Manager Program are primarily professionals who are retired or in transition from responsible management positions in public agencies.
  • They represent all the disciplines related to public agency operations, and they are willing to accept interim positions.
  • Our participants will be able to help communities move forward while a search is made for permanent replacements.
  • Our participants have assisted new agencies, communities and newly-incorporated cities get started with a minimum of stress and an abundance of practical hands-on experience.

How the program works:

  • After you decide to take advantage of Ohio Interim Manager Program services, please visit the OCMA web site at http://www.ocmaohio.org and click on the link to Ohio Interim Manager Program. Here you will find a list of names with resumes, skill sets and areas of expertise.
  • You negotiate the job definition, responsibilities, scope, timing, terms and compensation, etc. with the program participant you have selected.
  • You select, direct and supervise the program registrant and maintain full control of the work to its satisfactory conclusion.

How can you share your experience?

It is the goal of Ohio Interim Manager Program and OCMA to match highly skilled public managers with temporary, short-term positions in communities and other agencies throughout the state. It is an ideal way to put your skills to use in fulfilling and rewarding work. As vacancies and short-term needs arise you may be contacted by various employers to determine your availability, and, with your agreement, put together an employment agreement.
