Human Resources Intern

The City of Centerville has an exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Intern position in the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Seasonal Intern will take part in various hands-on projects in areas such as recruitment, performance management and employee development. Responsible students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field should apply. Intern will work a flexible schedule (up to 40 hours/week).

Job Responsibilities:
Assist the HR team with day-to-day operations
Audit and modernize personnel files
Assist in creating an onboarding toolkit for new managers
Assist in research and development of a new performance evaluation process
Conduct workplace policy research and development
Update and edit job descriptions
Assist with recruiting activities
Uphold the City’s mission, vision, and values

Preferred Qualifications:
Enrolled in a four-year program with focus in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field.
Highly organized with good time management skills.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
