Development Inspector

This position works under the direction of the Senior Planner with guidance from the City Engineer. This position is responsible for working closely with the public on a regular basis to provide customer service on planning and zoning issues. This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Essential job functions include:

· Communicate with property owners on complainants and write zoning and property maintenance code violations

· Assists City Engineer and Planning Manager with the enforcement of subdivision regulations.

· Perform sidewalk and lot inspections

· Provides technical assistance and information to staff and the public in the administration of specific engineering related ordinances

·Receives and process a variety of right-of-way permit applications and reviews permits to ensure compliance with City requirements and for completeness of application

Qualifications for this position include two years of experience in code enforcement, zoning administration, or building code issuance with an associate’s degree in engineering, urban planning, construction management, social sciences or related field preferred.

The salary range for this position is $24.00/hr. to $31.00/hr. with full health insurance (including HSA contributions), paid time off, and retirement with Ohio Public Employees Retirement.
