Project Engineer
The City of Powell is a vibrant and growing community committed to excellence in public service. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer to join our team and contribute to the planning, design, and maintenance of critical public infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community by ensuring the safety and functionality of roads, bridges, stormwater systems, and more.
As a Project Engineer, this position will work under the direction of the City Engineer to plan, design, oversee construction, and maintain both public and private infrastructure projects. This role involves site analysis, project management, collaboration with contractors, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Starting Salary
- $90,000 – $105,000 a year
Benefits

- Participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design, preparation, and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for capital improvement projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the City’s five-year Capital Improvement Program.
- Conduct technical studies, research, and investigations to support infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and submit project grants to secure funding opportunities.
- Address public inquiries and concerns related to engineering and construction matters.
- Provide engineering support to other City departments for capital improvement projects.
- Develop and update construction standards and specifications.
- Supervise and manage consultants involved in drafting, surveying, and design work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering project management.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Ohio.
